Another paper I wrote in grad school. This one is about Blade Runner, one of my favorite films. You can decide for yourself if I know what the hell I'm talking about by going HERE.
Interesting, though not as strong an argument as your other paper. Roy passed the V-K test at the end, eh?
One problem I have with academic papers like this - and to some degree with this one - is that they restate in rather dry language what the movie (or "text") itself presents in more immediate fashion, viserally and emotionally - and more effectively.
Well, Graham, I have to disagree with you slightly. It's obvious that an internal combustion engine makes a car go ... but how an internal combustion engine specifically works is less obvious to some. But I certainly do agree it's more rewarding to watch the film than to read a paper about the film.
Well I liked it. Interesting analysis, Victor. It's been online a while now, hasn't it? I seem to recall reading it once before a couple years ago.
On a related note, I still haven't seen the director's cut yet. Apparently the local library has a copy of it, but it's currently checked out. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to see it.

Shit, now I'm doing it!
