Legs, staying power, and thanks to all you nifty readers.

An author friend of mine told me something a couple months ago. He said Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse might not be the sort of novel that rockets to the top of the bestseller list, but he thought it would be the kind of book that would stick around, that people would find slowly, mention it to other people who would it turn mention it to others. Authors know how important word of mouth is in this racket. I hoped my friend was right, and now, it looks like he might be ... although time will tell. And it is rather nice that some folks are still talking about a book that came out back in the summer. I got a double-shot of goodness from Cameron Hughes who recently had nice things to say about Go-Go at January Magazine, and he was cool enough to repeat himself at Bookgasm. Recently, my editor at Touchstone said the book "apparently has legs" and happily reported they are going into a second printing. So now I have to thank some folks. You guys. Readers. If that sounds corny or like a suck-up manuever ... well, too damn bad because it's the readers who deserve to be thanked. Thanks for word-of-mouthing me into a second printing. Thanks for telling your friends. Thanks for getting the word out. Please keep doing what you're doing.

Congrats on the second printing. And, uh, we'll expect some more sucking up once it goes to a third printing.

Kudos on "Go Go" Round Two. I've hand sold 14 copies at my local bookstore in Indiana. "Go Go" is now the best-selling "Staff Pick" in store history (of course we've only been open 7 years). Anyway, the real congrats goes to You. You wrote a great book, people dig it, and the more exposure it gets all the better.

I've just discovered your book at the Borders bookstore next to the Mall of LA (autographed even!) and I'm already hoping for a sequel. Kudos on the 2nd printing.

I just bought a copy. It had one of those anti-shoplifting doohickeys stuck on the inside back cover, so I guess it's the sort of thing that people steal, which says something I guess. Although I'm not real sure what it says, and I'm not sure what good those anti-shoplifting doohickeys do, since they peel right off.

Hey, Victor, I was going over the remains of my now-dead blog and came cross this. Should make you happy.

This is awesome to hear about a second printing. I've talked the heck up about this since I first stumbled across it. It was easily one of the best reads of my 2008. Keep up the great work!

If you write a sequel you can set it in the Caribbean or South America and write the trip off as research.

I'm glad to hear it. I actually got turned on to crime fiction again when I asked for a copy at Book People in August, and would up also getting the books Yellow Medicine and Severance Package along with it. That, fortunately, took care of a lot of my summer and fall.

I am happy to say that the B. Dalton in Edina, MN has sold 9 copies of Go-Go. A rinky-dink Mall store sold 9 copies.

Just finished the copy of Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse I got on a trip to Seattle (Bailey/Coy Books). Awesome.
What's recommended as my second Gischler novel?
