Hello, Italy

I love Italy and love the great readers there. Here is the cover for Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse which hits Italy tomorrow. I'm excited that Italian readers will have a chance to read another one of my novels.

As a side note, I have no idea who the girl is with the blood running down her chin.

e-Pulp for cheap!

The cool thing about Kindle is that you can get a novel for .99 cents. Specifically Anthony Neil Smith's novel CHOKE ON YOUR LIES. I've known Neil a long time, and he is one kick-ass author. So if you have a Kindle (or a Nook) then grab this bargain fast before the price goes up.

DO IT!!!

Vicki Hendricks -- Kindle Bargain

One of my favorite authors Vicki Hendricks has now put some of her novels on Kindle at a bargain price. Of all of Vicki's great noir tales VOLUNTARY MADNESS is my favorite. I like to call it unflinching literary crime noir. You call it what you like, but you need to read it first. GO. SPEND MONEY.

Motion Pictures of the Apocalypse

If you go to the website of Films in Motion you can check out a very short "teaser trailer" for Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse, one of the novels that fell out of my brain. What's kinda cool is that producer Jason Hewitt also tapped me to write the screenplay adaptation. It should be noted that the teaser trailer is NOT footage from the actual film, but rather something shot quickly to get folks juiced up. It's pretty cool.
UPDATE: A little more HERE at Crimespree Cinema.

See you in NOLA

I hope I'll see you folks at New Orleans Comic Con Jan. 29-30. I'll be haunting a table somewhere and signing books and all that, and I think I'm doing some kind of panel Sunday afternoon. Details as doings unfold.

X-MEN: the new story arc begins with #7.

Hello, funny book readers! Welcome X-men fans (and everyone else too.) The new arc of X-Men begins soon, featuring everyone's favorite web-head: SPIDERMAN!

Since the release of the preview images, I've been peppered with one question a number of times: Are we just gonna see the same old X-dudes we see in the other titles. I'll answer like this:

All of the X-Men are part of the X-Men world. These characters are all tangled up with one another. So Cyclops, for example, is not going to suddenly vanish from the book, never to be heard from again. However, I'm happy and eager to tell everyone that you'll see a lot more Gambit and Storm in this arc. And if I have my way (I don't always get my way, just to let you know) they'll play major roles in future arcs too, with other characters coming and going, depending on what we think is right for a particular story. None of what I'm saying here is gospel, as things can always change, but I am telling you as straight as possible what I plan and hope for future issues.

And let me tell you, folks, Chris Bachalo's pencils are stellar. This is gonna be a damn cool arc, and if you're late to the party (or just had an aversion to vampires) then I hope you'll take this opportunity to hop on the X-train. I'll see you in the club car.

Because I'm supposed to try to sell things once in a while ...

In between talking about beer and wine and what dead animal I'm grilling, I'm supposed to occasionally use this blog to try to get you to buy junk I've written. This is one of those posts.

Now I know many of you probably got an AMAZON GIFT CARD for Christmas, so you can check out The Deputy or Three on a Light on Kindle, both at bargain prices. In addition to gift cards, maybe you got yourself a nifty e-reader and you're eager to take it for a test spin. Now's the time, baby.

I'm meeting with my producer Wednesday for sushi, and we're going to discuss tweaks to the screenplay I've adapted from one of my own novels. You can't complain about how the novel is sooooo much better than the film unless you actually read the novel, so it's time to finally break down and get your copy of Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse. There's also a great script for this novel, so I'll keep you up to date on news as I hear it.

For my funny book peeps, I suggest the complete Merc with a Mouth in hardcover. Mmmmm. Full of Deadpooly goodness.

So get out there and do your part for the economy. SPEND, BABY!
