I've just read the issue and I absolutely LOVED it! Very funny issue! You're voicing Spike absolutely well! Good job indeed! I loved the dialogue so much and I loved the bugs attempt to cheer him up. Spike's monologue was nice either, but I don't want him to move on Buffy, I hope he won't. :) I can't wait for the next issue!

Humm, let me guess... I think YOU know! :P
Again - thanks for the good story! :)
p.s. I liked and the "moon frog", but I hope it won't eat all these cute bugs! Bad froggy! :D

I liked this issue and thought that it was a promising beginning. I thought that Spike's characterization was good throughout. My only misgiving was about the comedy/serious stuff balance. My own preference is for Spike to be used more as a serious character, although I realise that he can also be used to deliver the funny lines and that his character is often used in this role, with hilarious results. Comedy plays an important role in the Whedonverse and as a lightening element to the darker story. Tragedy can turn to comedy very quickly.I suppose I'm just worrying that the series is going to be a bit too funny, judging by this first episode, to the detriment of Spike. I also worry about those poor bugs. Spike doesn't seem to care as much about them as he did in Jane's web-comic and puts them in alot of danger.I treally doesn't show him in a very good light.

Thanks, for your thoughts, Kaz.

I think (my hope) is that you'll find all these things balance out okay by the end of the 5 issue run. Don't worry. I want the best for Spike too.
