A courtesan demon huh? I'm afraid that is still pretty tacky, just more expensive(!), and as she can presumably be bought I will assume nothing on where her loyalties/motivations or intentions lie. This issue certainly didn't serve to make me like her more, just increased my distrust and I feel pretty insulted on Spike's behalf at what she thinks he will fall for. Whilst he seems intrigued by what she is up to, I am hoping it is with the level of dubious consideration that it seems to be coming with. She is being so incredibly, clumsily obvious in her attempts to manipulate him (so not that high end!) that it is quite silly and would seem totally unrealistic if he falls for this, he is smarter than that. So fingers crossed the bugs are being paranoid and when she undoubtedly tries it on next issue we will see resistance and not the previously assumed predictable capitulation to her succubus-esque charms!
I am really enjoying the mini overall but this issue did only really serve to cement my dislike of Morgan. So I hope with all I have that she is a temporary character because I can't imagine a storyline that would avert my dislike of her well enough to enjoy seeing more of her after the mini.
And I have to ask, why didn't Pearl and Nash just use their laser beams to fry Spike like they always do to attack anything else?
I liked this issue. In some respects, my favourite so far. I loved the 'nobody's idea of a hero line.' Spike's down on himself and has lost a bit of self belief. That line had alot of resonance. On the subject of Morgan, I'm trying to remain neutral, despite her being not quite my idea of a love interest for Spike. On the one hand, the all things to all male rulers is a bit of a fantasy thing that seems a tad icky, on the other, I can identify quite alot with the "all I want is to be home," that seems to be her main motivation. Time will tell. Sebastian and Frisky make a good team. Thankyou, Victor, good issue !
This was the best issue of the series so far, but this comic is still spoiled for me by the inclusion of Morgan. I still don't see why whatever it is Spike's learning about himself has to be done because of her. It's way too soon for another serious love interest (time wise it's only a couple of days since Spike told Buffy he loved her) and Morgan just seems to be there because theres some rule that you have to have sexy women in comic book stories.
Also, whatever Spike's supposed to be learning about himself in this series, he'd better hurry up, because there are only two issues to go and all he's done so far is be down on himself and boss the bugs around.
Sorry if this seems very negative. I'm sure lots of people love the series, but it's just not working for me.
Sorry to hear its not working for you, anon, although I don't quite get your reasoning. Not all characters in a comic are meant to be liked or disliked equally. Some might even suppose your dislike for Morgan means the character is getting the appropriate reaction. But who can say?
But I certainly respect your opinion and appreciate your giving the book a chance.

I assume we are supposed to see Seb's concerns as justified and that Spike is being taken in by Morgan. I find this quite hard to believe as he is aware of what she is and because the way she is behaving is so obvious. Perhaps he is open to accepting the flattery because of his current mood, but I will be disappointed if we are writing down his IQ when she lacks any subtlety and is so blatantly manipulative (and he has openly acknowledged her attempts to avoid providing information and her inherent intent to 'charm'). I have loved the writing of Spike so far in this mini but I really don't like seeing Spike being dumbed down.
I was told that there was mention of you being involved in some way in S10 at the last comic conference panel. Can you confirm if you have been asked formally (obviously appreciating you probably can't tell us to do what)? I love the mini but I have to be honest, I hope you are getting to do either another mini or write in the main book. Spike's my favourite character but I wouldn't like to see him in a separate title.
They want to be wary if she is, I doubt she would keep her clovens to herself!! I wouldn't wish her upon anyone but better them than Spike though. The whole seduction as a way of introducing yourself leaves a very specific impression and I'm unconvinced with her belief that men always do it the hard way that she is even playing 'fair', even less fair than manipulation normally gets. I don't know her and have been shown no reason to like her so far but plenty to dislike, I certainly don't want her to stick around.
I'd happily see VG writing BtVS (inc Spike), his has been some of the best voicing across all the S9 titles so far. One of the current writers can take on the Seb&Frisky bugverse instead, ha!!!
Hi Mr. Gishler, I've just read the issue and I loved it. Well, I think the previous issues were funnier, but that was good too. I liked Dru's cameo - you're voicing her so well and now I'm absolutely sure you can voice every Buffy's character well! And I agree with the previous poster – you should have to take on the all Buffyverse tittles and one of the current writers can take on the Bugverse instead! LOL Oh, and I'm happy that nothing had happened between Spike and Morgan (yet!). Let her go to take care for the orphans or the kings; Spike doesn’t need her caries – he is no orphan or a king, and besides he has his bugs! They are awesome creatures! And I have two questions (well probably they are spoilers, so you don’t need to answer me) Does Spike tell a lie to Morgan about the shreds? I mean the fate of these shreds wasn't mentioned in the main title; nor in Spike's web comics. Buffy was so upset after the Angel's betrayal, the death of Giles and the break up the Seed, to think about. And Spike was far away of the Hellmouth then –he was chasing the monsters in the outer space. Does Spike really believe he isn't a hero? Spike saved the word twice and he still can't believe he is a hero, unlike Angel who screwed up the world more than twice, but he still thinks that he is The Hero and he did right thinks to do, but Buffy (and the others) just didn't understand his "heroic" intentions (according to the last A&F issues). Oh, and that comment of Mr. Allie about "stripping off Spike's soul" in the columns made me really worried. I hope they will not do that with Spike! To take off his soul before Spike to shows up in A&F in a favor of Angel again... no one can be better in the Angel's book instead Angel himself... Sorry for my rant, but I'm really anxious about.. and I'm not alone.. Anyway, thanks for the great Spike's book! I'm going to re-read the issue now! :)
Oh, I forgot to tell – the art is spectacular – the best art of S9! Paul Lee is doing a great job and I would love to have him as an artist of the main Buffy title in S10. The current artist can take on the Bugverse's art instead! :D

But Morgan is so lovable and helps orphans!

Morgan is lovable and helps the orphans?
LooooooooooLLLLL!!!
In which universe?
Maybe that's why she wants to open the helmouth, so more courtesans can come and end world's hunger!
Kidding..
It was a good issue though, we'll done.

I've had an offer to write the Sebastian & Frisky ongoing for season 10.
Not really.
I'm trying not to imagine Sebastian and Frisky as maverick cops in fedoras and raincoats now !!!
Will Morgan be a regular in the Sebastian & Frisky ongoing?
