2013

Happy 2013, everybody.  I hope it's a good year for you.

I'll be frank.  I have high hopes.  All the seeds for an amazing 2013 were planted in 2012. I'm stoked about my thriller STAY for Thomas Dunne books.

I'm also very excited about the fantasy novel I'm writing.  I knew I wanted to write novels even when I was a kid, and the fantasy genre was my first love.  Now I've connected with a publisher who likes my idea and has given me the green light to write the thing.  Again, I'm pretty damn excited.

2013 will also see the debut of my first creator-owned comic book.

More on the above when I'm allowed to announce.

So, yeah.  I'm looking for 2013 to be good to me.  All fingers are crossed.

What about you?  Big hopes and expectations for 2013?

Wait, what? How did I miss an announcement about another book deal???? That's awesome. Congrats. I'm also excited the fantasy novel has some backing because I loved the short story and would love to see the novel.

Inspired partially by you and others my 2013 will hopefully include writing an urban fantasy novel set in Detroit and selling my other crime novel.

A good part of my 2012 was spent reading the Gischler oevre. Now I have something to look forward to in 2013. Thanks.

You didn't list the sequel to GGOTA! Surely that's got to be on the list for 2013! Congrats on the new book deal! I'm looking forward to reading more great stuff from you!

Storm, yeah, but that's a DIY project so in a slightly different category. But, yes, another cool thing in the pipe.

Hey, I'm looking forward the reading more of your stuff this year. A lot of good things have happened to you since you had those rejection letters posted in your T/A office at grad school.

All the best to you for 2013.

PS. You will note also that Carlos Dews has a new book coming out soon (i.e., summmer '13, co-written with S.J. Rozan under a pen-name). Yeah, I know it is bad form to mention another writer on your blog, but what the hell.
