Oh man, are you seriously prepared to piss off Buffy/Spike shippers with new love interest for Spike?

He got his soul for her, it's hard to get Buffy out of his heart.

Best of luck.

Ha-Ha.

Just remember, it's a 5-issue story arc. Lot's can happen! Who knows!

Yep. Like I said on Twitter, if this is meant to be a new love interest, better invest in a good hard hat.

Spike doesn't look interested...

No! No! That demon bi... hmmm... girl is just trying to seduce Spike! Spike wouldn't betray the love of his (un)life - Buffy! He just WON'T!

Just read an advance review for no 2 of this comic.

Sorry, Mr Gischler. I'm afraid I don't think I could hate this character more than I already do, and I haven't even met her yet.

Why does this comic even need a female character?

Anonymous,

But she doesn't hate you!

But why does the comic even need this female character?

I just don't get why if Spike is off to 'find himself' or whatever, this woman has to be there at all. It's way too soon for a new love interest, yet all the publicity is promoting her as exactly that.
Spuffy can't be over until Buffy actually says so. As of now, she's said nothing. We have no idea what she thinks.

I'm sorry. I know you're probably thinking 'crazy 'shippers' or whatever. why can't they just wait and see what happens? But I hate this development, But it's ruining the mini series for me. Sorry.

I'm actually looking forward to the new female character. Spike has always been one to connect with women easily and moreover he has had a history of rebounding (Harmony).

The first name of the character has already been revealed, but does she also have a surname?

She's a one-namer.

Like Cher.

I think the mini could end up great, whichever way it goes with Morgan but it is unpleasant to make Spike seem so cheap/shallow to declare his love and then jump on the next option that comes along. So I hope it doesn't go this way in the end, although it even being played is disappointing to be honest (and yes, I agree he doesn't look interested in this cover).

As a Spike fan I loved how well you got his 'voice' in issue 1 (the best in S9), but am disappointed that he isn't being allowed to move forward (either towards or away from Buffy, I'd prefer towards personally but in either path) without the option of getting in someone else's pants being used as a factor. The guy is intelligent enough to have got there without this obvious angle.

Hmmm, as I say, I hope to enjoy the mini overall and have loved your writing so far, but this story option was unhappily predictable. When I thought it was going to basically be him and bugs (as was initially put forward) I was really pleased this specifically wasn't going to happen. Anyway, the female presence angle aside, who (fingers crossed) doesn't have to actually end up the predictable/shallow love interest, I'm hoping for lots of clever twists and turns and a great Spike story.
